Yash’s Ravana Steals the Show as Ramayana Trailer Goes Global

Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], July 30: The wait’s over—Ramayana: Part 1 just dropped its trailer, and all eyes are on Yash. His take on Ravana isn’t just intense, it completely steals the spotlight. After a private screening at San Diego Comic-Con on July 24, the trailer is finally out for everyone, gearing up for a worldwide release before the movie hits theaters.

Director Nitesh Tiwari is aiming for a massive cinematic event with this one. The trailer gives us a sweeping look at the story, with Ranbir Kapoor stepping in as Lord Rama, Sai Pallavi as Sita, and Yash bringing a fierce, commanding energy to Ravana.

When Yash is on screen, it’s hard to look away. He has this towering presence—decked out in golden armor, delivering intense lines—that grabs your attention right away. Fans who loved him in the KGF movies will see a totally different side of him here, especially next to Ranbir Kapoor’s more restrained, dignified Rama.

The trailer covers some of the epic’s most iconic moments—Rama and Sita’s wedding, Kaikeyi demanding Rama’s exile, and the beginnings of the central conflict between Rama and Ravana. There’s a lot to take in visually, but people can’t stop talking about the first look at the cast, too.

Sai Pallavi’s take on Sita comes off as graceful and calm, even in the chaos, while Sunny Deol’s Hanuman is noticeably absent from this first trailer. Fans are definitely talking about it.

This trailer comes after the film’s buzzworthy presentation at Comic-Con—only the second time an Indian film, after Kalki 2898 AD, has been shown off at that event. Producer Namit Malhotra apparently held back the public release until they secured a global distribution deal with Sony Pictures Entertainment, pushing for a much bigger worldwide launch.

There’s also some serious star power behind the scenes. A.R. Rahman and Hans Zimmer are teaming up on the music, raising the stakes even higher for the film’s global ambitions. T-Series has reportedly snapped up the music rights for both parts in a huge deal worth Rs 75 crore.

Ramayana: Part 1 will hit theaters on November 5, 2026—right in time for Diwali—with Part 2 following in Diwali 2027.
