India Shines at Global Celebrity League Launch: Stars and Cricketers Set Dubai Stage Ablaze

Dubai [UAE], April 8: Indian stars took center stage at the high-voltage Global Celebrity League (GCL) launch in Dubai, where cricket legends and Bollywood’s finest lit up the arena in what was arguably one of the most glamorous sports unveilings of the year.

Hosted by the charismatic Shifali Bagga, the event kicked off with a heartfelt tribute to GCL’s late founder, Sheikh Saud Abdullah Al Thani, celebrating his legacy with a moment of silence.

The highlight of the evening was the spectacular unveiling of the five teams: Indian Thunders, Pakistan Firefox, Afghan Warriors, Bengal Tigers, and Qatar Global — with India’s presence clearly dominating the spotlight.

Cricketing icon Shikhar Dhawan led the Indian delegation with unmatched style and pride. Representing the Indian Thunders, Dhawan shared the stage with Bollywood superstars Neha Sharma, Arbaaz Khan, and Sohail Khan, creating an electrifying atmosphere and a sense of national pride.

While Pakistan Firefox was introduced by stars like Shahid Afridi and Wahab Riaz, it was the Indian Thunders team that truly captured hearts with their Bollywood charm and dynamic energy.

Mr. Sumit Rajpal, team owner of Indian Thunders, was represented with honor and admiration. GCL President Arif Malik officially announced the league schedule, confirming that the much-anticipated matches will take place from May 27 to June 4, 2025, in Doha, Qatar. The event’s centerpiece will be the opening match between India and Pakistan, setting the tone for an exhilarating cricketainment spectacle.

League Director Naghma Khan was widely praised for her leadership and flawless execution of the event, bringing together sports and entertainment in one seamless platform.

According to Al Mudassar News Agency, the presence of Indian celebrities and cricketers elevated the stature of the event, with their camaraderie, speeches, and media interactions energizing the entire launch and reflecting India’s strong influence within the league.

Indian cricketer Shikhar Dhawan addressed the audience with passion, promising fans a league full of fire, unity, and unforgettable entertainment. His light-hearted exchange with Shahid Afridi during a live video appearance became a fan-favorite moment, symbolizing friendly competition and mutual respect.

From red carpet interviews to loud cheers during team reveals, the event represented excitement, cultural unity, and India’s prominent role in shaping the success of the Global Celebrity League.

Global Celebrity League (GCL) is not just another cricket league — it is a fusion of cricket, cinema, and international culture. With Indian stars leading the way, the league is poised to thrill audiences across the globe.
