Bengaluru (Karnataka) [India], September 30: East-West Seed India recently organized a comprehensive health screening and awareness camp for 110 women workers at its Seed Production Department farm.
The camp offered a range of preventive health services, including Complete Blood Count tests, blood sugar and blood pressure checks, Body Mass Index and nutritional assessments, vision screening, and individual consultations with a general physician. The screenings helped identify potential health concerns, including anemia, hypertension, and elevated blood sugar, and enabled participants to receive medical advice and referrals when needed.
A dedicated menstrual health awareness session was another important part of the initiative. Covering menstrual hygiene, nutrition, common symptoms, warning signs, and conditions such as PCOS and PCOD, the session created a supportive environment where women could ask questions openly and discuss concerns that are often left unspoken.
For the women who participated, having access to medical professionals at their workplace made the experience particularly meaningful.
“We are usually so focused on our work and families that our own health can come last. Having the doctors here, getting the tests done and being able to ask questions openly made me feel cared for and more aware of what I need to look after,” shared one of the participating women workers.
