February 21: Shikhar Kumar the founder of Stone Wood Resorts won the Iconic Young Hotelier award 2021, organised recently by Times Hospitality Icon at Planet Hollywood Goa. The award was presented in honour of his contribution to the hospitality industry and his outstanding work for his brand Stone Wood Resorts.
From an early age, Mr. Shikhar knew he wanted to be a hotelier. In order to convert his dream a reality, he began his journey by graduating from Welcome Group Graduate School of Hotel Management in Manipal and later acquired his master’s degree from Les Roches International School of Hotel Management, Switzerland.
Mr. Shikhar set out to build his empire at the age of 21. His first project was the Beach Club ‘Antares’ followed by several restaurants, Luxury Hotels and Resorts in the state of Goa and Karnataka. He built a Boutique Hotels chain, “Stone Wood Resorts”, and within a few years of its launch, he launched 08 properties under his brand.
